Description:
Umineko no Naku Koro ni Portable 2 is a Visual Novel video game published by Alchemist released on November 17, 2011 for the Sony PlayStation Portable.
Review by DAReezan:
Ah, the 2nd game on the PSP for the widely acclaimed Umineko no Naku Koro Ni murder/mystery visual novel.
For those who haven’t seen the review of the first game, this game has the same Gameplay and story.
Now, the new stuff:
Umineko no Naku Koro Ni Portable 2 covers the 3rd and 4th episode in the Umineko series: Banquet of the Golden Witch and Alliance of the Golden Witch.
These are ultimately the last 2 episodes in what is known as “The question” arc which introduces the players to the mysteries of Rokkenjima and allows them to start forming their theories on “whodunit”
Several new characters are introduced both for the Witch’s and the Human’s side.
One of the heavy motifs throughout these games is the recurrence of the “Locked Room” murders.
A new rule added on the 4th episode to accompany the “Red Truth” is the “Blue Truth” provided to Ushiromiya Battler by Beatrice. Statements made in Blue must abide by the Red Truth and can be considered to be true unless slashed by a Red Truth.
The Blue Truth is mainly meant to advance the user’s overall theory instead of just fishing for information and must directly deny any supernatural events in Rokkenjima.
